I witnessed the grand finale of the inaugural Dubai Padel Cup held at Jumeriah Emirates Towers area. It’s wonderful to see hundreds of enthusiastic padel tennis fans follow this event closely as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge.

What I liked most about the Dubai Padel Cup was that it brought communities together for a competitive yet enjoyable environment. The addition of the GCC and Expat and the Gov Padel Cup formats was exciting and quite enjoyable . This is commendable as it gives us the chance to compete alongside our colleagues and coaches alike. These tournaments are a true example of the uniqueness that differentiates DPC from other tournaments and events.

Coming from a tennis background, I guess, it was inevitable. I played tennis for more than 20 years. I really enjoyed the whole experience. All the organisers were very friendly and understanding and I can’t wait to play again next year. Padel is already massive in Dubai and I think it will just go from strength to strength. I look forward to what the future will bring.

Given the tremendous interest we have seen from the registration for various categories as well as showing up on stands to support the players, the second edition of the Dubai Padel Cup has proven to be a great success. It is so humbling and overwhelming for us that we could play a small role in promoting the sport, which is becoming more and more popular in the area.
